Sunday on the Porch

It's a lazy day rocking on the front porch blowing bubbles with a five year old.  Popping them brings squeals of laughter. 
We watch the butterflies and bees flying around the flowers and investigate the hairy orange caterpillar.
What a wonderful day!

"The Sunny Side of Life Book"

Collecting and reading old cookbook pamphlets is a passion of mine.  Some have great recipes and some are just hilarious. I love the cover on this one. The pamphlet explains how to "keep on the sunny side of life" by eating the right kinds of food.  It includes recipes for Kellogg's All-Bran cereal.  It was copyrighted in 1934 by the Kellogg Company, Battle Creek, Michigan.  




Simple Supper

                                            Fresh Eggs from the Farmer's Market

 

Nothing is easier than my favorite fried egg sandwich - toasted white bread, miracle whip, and a fried egg.  Add some apple salad and a big glass of sweet tea and I am content.
